    How to interpret plate results in STAAD?

    Plate results are interpreted  through local axis. While designing it is advised to consider the torsional moment in addition with the major moments.
    = Mx + Mxy

    If you have Z-axis upward, positive value of Mx or My indicates tension on the upper surface, and the reverse is true for if Z-axis downward.
